innovacion-sistema-vasco-salud-jornada-kronikguneThe aim of this meeting is to present the research and innovation strategies currently being implemented in the Basque health system.

The XXII European Week for Advanced Management, the slogan for which is “Advanced management to achieve advanced organisations” will be held in the Basque Country between 26 October and 6 November. At the same time, between 26 and 30 October, the Euskalduna Conference Centre in Bilbao will host the conference at which advanced management in strategies, clients, persons, innovation and society will be debated and discussed. 

On 29 October, the Basque government’s Head of Health Research and Innovation, María Aguirre, will host a meeting on the “Citizen participation and involvement in advanced management”. The meeting will star with a presentation on the new health R&D&I strategy for the Basque Country. The leaders of five strategic projects will show how innovation contributes to the continual transformation and improvement of the Basque health system.

The meeting “Citizen participation and involvement in advanced management”, organised by the Basque government’s Department of Health, BIOEF, Osakidetza and Kronikgune will comprise the following presentations:

  • A project to encourage citizen participation in the health system
  • The Basque biobank: an essential research tool
  • Kronik On: patient empowerment in the care of multiply co-morbid patients
  • Innovation in management systems: integrated R&D&I management
  • Innovation in a social/health setting

Kronikgune will present “Kronik ON: patient empowerment in the care of multiply co-morbid patients”. This is a structured empowerment programme mainly undertaken by nursing professionals with the collaboration and involvement of patients and their caregivers. This programme has been conducted in the framework of the European Carewell project, the aim of which is to improve the care provided to complex chronic patients.
