Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network Agent
One of the main levers of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Plan 2020, PCTI 2020, is the adaptation, organisation and updating of the Basque Science, Technology and Innovation Network (RVCTI)9 . This process seeks, on the basis of the experience acquired, to define the objectives and specific positioning of each agent in terms of specialisation, excellence and situation in the R&D&I value chain. The aim is to increase the efficiency and results orientation of the RVCTI agents and to improve their contribution of value to the productive and social fabric of the Basque Country, through collaboration and complementarity.
The different types of agents are regulated in the RVCTI regulations, which define its members. It is articulated from the Public Register of Agents of said Network (Decree 109/2015 of 23 June, BOPV 16 July 2015).
The Biosistemak Institute has been an Agent of the RVCTI since 2012. On 19 October 2012, the Vice-Minister of Technology, Innovation and Competitiveness accredited the Biosistemak Health Systems Research Institute as an Integrated Scientific and Technological Agent in the RVCTI. Thus, it was considered a Health Research and Development (R&D) Unit within the framework of the typology of Scientific and Technological Agents established by Decree 221/2002, of 1 October.10
On 7 January 2016, Biosistemak was once again re-accredited as a Scientific Technological Agent of the Basque Network in the category of Health R&D Health Organisation. In 2019, the Biosistemak Institute has applied for re-accreditation in the network as a Scientific Technological Agent of the Basque Network in the category of Health Research Centre (CIS) in accordance with that specified in article 22.2 of Decree 109/2015, of 23 June, which regulates and updates the composition of the RVCTI.
