The meeting was held on 9-10 October 2023 in the Italian city of Venice, Italy.

The overall objective of the European Partnership on Transforming Health and Care Systems (THCS) is to contribute to the transition towards more sustainable, efficient, resilient, inclusive, innovative, and high-quality health and care systems that are people-centered and accessible to all.

During the THCS General Assembly, the progress made in the first year of the partnership was presented, with an assessment of the milestones achieved in the Annual Programme 2023. Likewise, the next steps for the annual closure of 2023 were established, setting a work plan for the last quarter of the year. Finally, work was done on the preparation of the Annual Plan 2024, setting the roadmap that the partnership will follow during the next year.

Biosistemak attended this meeting as one of the partners responsible for providing knowledge and tools for defining the methodological and evaluation framework and participating in the activities for the creation of knowledge in support of the transfer of European best practices. It is worth highlighting the participation in the THCS of the Ministry of Health of the Basque Government, through BIOEF, as a funding partner for research projects that promote the transformation of health and care systems, also acting as technical secretary of the joint translational call, and the monitoring and evaluation of the projects.

The THCS will hold its 2023 Annual Conference in Brussels on 30 November, where the first results obtained are expected to be presented, as well as the experiences of different agents of the European health ecosystem.
