On 27th January 2016, Tallinn (Estonia) will host the 9th innovation award ceremony, in which the European Carewell project, along with a further 5 finalist Basque entities will opt for the Innovation Awards of the Year in the six categories.
The “Quality Innovation of the Year” Competition was created in 2007 in Finland with the aim of fostering the emergence and development of innovation in products, technology or organisational processes at a European level. It is an opportunity to raise international awareness of the project and receive recognition for it. Countries like Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Hungary, Israel and the Basque Country through Euskalit take part in this competition.
On 9th December, the Euskalduna Conference Centre and Concert Hall will host the award ceremony for the “Quality Innovation of the Year 2015” Competition in the Basque Country. Dr. María Luisa Merino, Managing Director of OSI Tolosaldea and head researcher of the project, will collect the award granted to Carewell for “Potential Innovation” of the year in the Basque Country. Kronikgune as the project coordinator will also attend the event.
This study aims to define, implement and validate new integrated healthcare models for complex chronic patients. It is worth highlighting the innovative part of Carewell, which seeks better care for patients by implementing new pathways in which coordination and communication of all professionals involved is highlighted, seeking integrated care as well as the use of new methods of patient empowerment and monitoring through face-to-face channels and the use of Information and Communication Technologies ICT.
This is the first year that Euskalit is working and participating in these awards. 23 candidatures were presented to the regional entities and projects selection process for the six categories considered in the awards: SMEs, large companies, the public sector and non-profit organisations, the social healthcare sector, educational sector and potential innovation. Of all the candidatures presented, Carewell has been selected by the expert jury made up of the Board of Euskalit and Innobasque to represent the Basque Country in the “Potential Innovation” category.
Congratulations to the whole team working on the project and good luck!
