Jaume Puig-Junoy, professor at the Barcelona School of Management of the Pompeu Fabra University, was the guest speaker. 

In 2024, the Biosistemak institute wants to complement the cycle of internal seminars by organizing external seminars with external experts who address topics of interest to the organization. These seminars will be open to collaborators of the institute who will be able to participate free of charge.

On January 26th from 10h to 11,30h at the offices of the Biosistemak Institute in the BEC Tower, the first seminar was organized by Jaume Puig-Junoy. The session entitled “Copayments: Formulas, expected effects, evidence and the case of the National Health System”, has been framed in the area of health economics.

Jaume Puig-Junoy is Senior Lecturer at the Barcelona School of Management – Universitat Pompeu Fabra (BSM-UPF). His main research interests are health economics, public sector economics, health management and economic evaluation. He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration with extraordinary award (1983) from the Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona and a PhD in Economics (1991) from the same university. He has been director and co-director of the Center for Research in Economics and Health (CRES). He was president of the Agency for Information, Evaluation and Quality in Health (AIAQS) and is currently the Director of the Master in Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics (MESOL) (IDEC-UPF) and the International Master on Health Economics and Pharmacoeconomics (MESIOL) (IDEC-UPF).
