We attended the Executive Board of the JAMRAI-2 project in Paris

Biosistemak is a board member and leader of the joint european action assessment work package, which focuses on the fight against antimicrobial resistance.

On 10-11 December 2024, Paris hosted the fourth meeting of the JAMRAI-2 Executive Board. EU-JAMRAI 2 is coordinated by INSERM (French National Institute for Health and Medical Research) and led by Marie-Cécile Ploy, who organised the meeting.

The meeting was a meeting point of the Executive Committee formed by the entities leading the work packages of the project with the aim of organising the content of the next Eu-JAMRAI 2 Annual Meeting to be held in Bilbao.

In the working sessions, the structure of the agenda was defined, including the sessions and their contents, as well as the identification of the agents that could participate. In addition, topics such as integrated surveillance of antimicrobial resistance in Europe and the improvement of infection prevention and control standards were discussed.

Biosistemak, host annual meeting in 2025

In Paris, fundamental issues related to the preparation of the annual event, which is being organised by Biosistemak and which will take place on 12-13 March 2025, at the Bizkaia Aretoa of the UPV/EHU, were addressed. The attendees participated in practical work sessions in groups, where the contents and formats of the sessions were defined, ensuring that they are aligned with the objectives of the EU-JAMRAI 2 project.

In addition to discussing the content to be addressed at the annual meeting in Bilbao, the meeting served to strengthen relations between executive board members and foster an atmosphere of cooperation. Participants shared experiences, which enriched the dialogue and identified new opportunities for future collaboration.

The meeting concluded with a clear commitment from all attendees: clear goals were set and next steps were defined to ensure that Annual Meeting 2025 is a successful and meaningful event in the fight against antimicrobial resistance.

JAMRAI 2 collaborative initiative

The mission of EU-JAMRAI 2 is to lead the fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through joint and coordinated action across Europe. With drug resistance, antibiotics and other medicines become ineffective, making infections increasingly difficult or impossible to treat.

Biosistemak leads work package 3 on project evaluation, together with FFIS (Fundación para la formación e investigación sanitarias de la Región de Murcia). This group is in charge of the Project Monitoring, which measures the progress of the project, and of the Impact Evaluation Plan, which assesses the effects achieved by the EU-JAMRAI 2 actions.

The consortium is committed to promoting interdisciplinary collaboration between countries, institutions and sectors to safeguard the effectiveness of antimicrobials and protect public health, now and in the future.
