The meeting will be held at Bilbao Exhibition Centre BEC, Kronikgune’s headquarters, from June 27 to 28, 2022.

This plenary meeting is the first to be held in person since two years ago, after the COVID-19 crisis. The YOUNG50 consortium is meeting at a strategic moment in the project, as the three regions are soon scheduled to begin intervention and piloting in Viesoji Istaiga Centro Poliklinika (Lithuania), the Luxembourg Institute of Health and Associate Aer Pur (Romania). The CARDIO50 program, adopted in the project, was planned to be implemented in the pilot countries in January 2020, but due to the crisis, the implementation could not take place.

YOUNG50 aims to transfer the Italian cardiovascular risk and disease screening m0del, CARDIO 50, to three European countries Lithuania, Romania, and Luxembourg. The aim is to implement this good practice adapted to each country ensuring its sustainability and applicability. CARDIO50 seeks changes in lifestyle and the acquisition of new healthy habits in the people who participate (increased daily physical activity, healthier diet, or reduced alcohol consumed weekly). An application will be used to monitor the users participating in the intervention, who will be sent different messages and notifications to encourage them to adopt healthier lifestyles.

In this project, Kronikgune is responsible for the “Situation analysis, feasibility and needs assessment, and definition of action plans for implementation”. The Institute has been responsible for describing the baseline situation in terms of epidemiological and cardiovascular health promotion context of the pilot countries; identifying the main features of CARDIO 50 that are essential to achieve the desired results in the project; and defining the adapted YOUNG50 model for each pilot country, developing a specific Action Plan for each of them.
