DigiFest2020 will be held from 1-11 December in an online format.

Scotland’s largest annual digital health and care event aims to be a space for reflection and learning about digital solutions that deliver better patient care. This year’s focus will be on analyzing and learning about digital solutions being implemented in Scotland, UK and internationally throughout 2020. A year in which COVID-19 has made digital health and care solutions a key tool for achieving and improving coordination and communication between organizations and health services.

The DigiFest2020 Steering Group, led by Margaret Whoriskey of the Scottish Government’s Digital Health and Care Directorate, has drawn up a very comprehensive programme in which the digital services and solutions implemented in different environments will be addressed on a daily basis.

On 8th December, Kronikgune and Osakidetza, representing the Basque Country, will present, together with the Scottish Government, the twinning agreement between the two regions developed in 2020 within the framework of the “Twinning 2020” call for proposals. “Twinning 2020” is a call launched by the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA). Both regions, will show their collaborative relationship in different research and twinning projects since 2012 and the information and knowledge exchange activities carried out in recent months in terms of “video consultations”.

Twinning 2020” has been an opportunity for the Basque Country to learn more about the “video consultation” strategy that has been implemented and as a consequence of COVID-19, has been scaled up throughout Scotland. The Scottish Government has shared the deployment of the “Near Me” platform; how it has been designed, planned and implemented, how professionals have been trained, the quality assurance and assessment processes, the recording of information in the systems, etc.
