The e-book has been published in the scientific repository of the Polytechnic Institute of Lisbon, with the collaboration of the OECD as part of the editorial team.

The e-book “Measuring health outcomes and experiences from a patient’s perspective” aims to showcase some of the good practices and experiences of health systems towards improving people’s health and well-being. It addresses some of the challenges facing health systems, ranging from delivering high-quality care to tackling inequalities in health outcomes, to eliminating ineffective care and investing more in the resilience of health systems. In this context, tools that measure patient experience and perspective are important to improving the quality of care and making health systems more people-centered. This data and information can help to understand the impact of healthcare, and its underlying policies, on patients’ lives, while identifying opportunities to improve health system structures and policies.

Kronikgune has contributed to the development of this e-book including a chapter on the work being carried out in the international learning community VOICE. This community focuses on the value-based healthcare paradigm as a key strategic area of work for all organizations participating in VOICE. This study combines a research component on the application and effectiveness of using quantitative and qualitative methods for data collection and analysis. As a result, it is expected that VOICE will enable organizations to incorporate the measurement of health value outcomes into routine clinical practice in a systematic and sustained manner, as well as improve patient empowerment, shared decision-making, and patient-physician communication.
